A Good Breakfast

A Good Breakfast is filled with quality protein, satiating good fats, and whole nutritious ingredients. It’s also one you’re excited to get out of bed to eat. Take the Good Breakfast quiz and find out the breakfast for you!

Combined, protein and fat have the gentlest impact on your blood sugar. Blood sugar is a key energy source for your body’s cells. When this energy supply is off balance, the result can be mitochondrial damage, oxidative stress, inflammation, aging, and chronic disease. Additionally, your hormones are affected by swings in blood sugar, impacting mental and reproductive health.

 
 

The Challenge

For 5 days, I challenge you to have your Good Breakfast for a peaceful 15 minutes before the busyness of the day sets in. I dare you to have more energy for the day with stable moods and minimal cravings.

Each day:

  • Settle in for 15 minutes, turn off your screens, and slowly enjoy your breakfast. Know that hundreds of others are enjoying this moment alongside you!

I’ve had to learn to love breakfast, and I still remember a time where I wasn’t hungry in the mornings. I also remember when I’d mindlessly scroll on my phone during breakfast, barely aware I had eaten. Now I look forward to breakfast the night before!

The Breakfast Before Busyness challenge is the product of my nutrition knowledge and experiments to optimize my own breakfast routine for years. I’ve ironed out the process, tweaked the recipes and trialed it with my clients. Today I have it bundled free for you to test it on yourself for 5 days.

Common Excuses

I’m not hungry for breakfast.

There are a lot of reasons why you might not be hungry in the morning, but generally it’s not a good sign. Lack of hunger could be caused by an underactive thyroid, or from late-night or disrupted eating patterns the day before. In those cases and even in the case of morning sickness, a morning dose of protein can help! There’s no need to have a massive breakfast if you’re not hungry, but a little something with protein and good fat is much better than nothing at all.

I already have a breakfast that works well for me.

You’re sure your current breakfast is working well for you? Hint: toast, cereal, pancakes and waffles sure are tasty, but they’re like rocket fuel catapulting blood sugar imbalance. Fruits and vegetables are good, but a breakfast built just on these is insufficient in most cases.

Pat yourself on the back if your breakfast is already filled with protein and fat from real, whole-food sources. I welcome to the challenge in order to hold yourself accountable for those precious 15 minutes of screen-free breakfast time.

Each of the challenge breakfast options are designed to be prepared efficiently ahead of time. You can enjoy your breakfast straight from the fridge.

I have no time to eat breakfast.

Consider that if you’re too busy to eat a meal for 15 minutes, you’re not making yourself a priority. We all have responsibilities demanding our attention each day. By creating space to enjoy a Good Breakfast, you can show up ready to tackle the rest of your day with more energy, focus and stability than you thought was possible. The return on this 15 minute investment will pay off. Try it out for 5 days and see for yourself.

I have dietary restrictions.

The recipes from the Good Breakfast quiz take many of the common dietary restrictions into account, including gluten, dairy, nuts, soy, eggs, sugar, vegetarian and vegan. If you have another dietary restriction and you’d like to take part in the challenge, simply sign up for the challenge and reply to your welcome email with any additional restrictions. I’ll do my best to accommodate and will be in touch to offer modifications within 48 hours.
